Proprietary Blends vs Transparent Supplement Labels

A proprietary blend is not automatically bad, but it can make evidence comparison harder when individual ingredient amounts are undisclosed.

Health note: This page is educational, not medical advice. New, worsening, sudden, or functionally significant cognitive symptoms deserve appropriate professional evaluation.

What transparency gives you

Exact amounts allow you to compare a product with human studies and discuss the formula more precisely with a healthcare professional.

What a blend can hide

A blend may disclose the total combined weight while leaving the dose of each component unknown.

Why order is not enough

Ingredient order can sometimes indicate relative quantity, but it does not provide the exact dose needed for a research comparison.

Our review preference

When two products are otherwise similar, Memory Measure gives more analytical weight to the formula that makes exact amounts easier to verify.

Memory Measure standard: We distinguish merchant claims from ingredient research and from evidence on a finished formula. An ingredient study does not automatically prove that a multi-ingredient product works.
